Food is not good or bad, it is just food. The shame, guilt and judgement that surrounds food is detrimental to our health and our self-esteem. Once we begin to see food as just food, then it will be possible to start hearing our bodies’ response to our choices and to begin lifelong nourishing friendships with food. 

Sarah Rock is a Clinical Nutritionist and Food Educator dedicated to helping anyone and everyone build a lifelong friendship with food, one tasty bite at a time!

Armed with her professional experience in nutrition and a passion for supporting families, Sarah has whipped up The Foodie Academy, a fun-filled haven where children and adults alike can kick their food fears to the curb and begin a lifelong friendship with food. With The Foodie Academy, she transforms cooking into an adventure, empowering everyone to prepare healthy meals and enjoy a friendship with food that allows them to grow and glow!

A Foodies’ learning is achieved through experiences of the senses, social interactions; embracing a process of critical and creative thinking. Foodies are encouraged to inquire, generate, analyse and reflect.

The Doing is the Fun

Our Foodies are encouraged to explore for learning’s sake, without regard for failure or success. Finding what does not succeed is encouraged, as these attempts inform our future endeavors, and together we engage in a process of collaborative self-discovery.

Support and Direction

Our Foodies choose many methods to express themselves and we are adaptive listeners. We discern when a supportive presence is all that is needed and when it’s suitable to make judgments, offer advice, ask questions, or provide feedback.
